While I focus on businesses that help animals and the environment, I also help other businesses so feel free to contact me if you need similar legal services. Trademark Law: If you are a business owner, whether it’s for profit or nonprofit, then you want to make sure you protect your brand by registering your business name, logo, slogan, or other unique way that you are known in the marketplace. If you don’t, then you may find yourself having to go through the expensive process of rebranding your company. I provide trademark registration services nationally and internationally. I also answer Office Actions from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, handle transfers of trademarks, and file renewals.
Nonprofit Law: I have been a nonprofit professional for more than 20 years, so I understand what it means to do work that you are passionate about. I help form Massachusetts nonprofits and help nonprofits from any state receive federal tax-exempt status. I also provide legal advice to run your nonprofit effectively and make sure it’s in compliance with federal laws.
Equine Law: I have been involved with horses for more than 47 years and have been a horse professional for more than 20 years. I bring this extensive equine knowledge together with my legal skills to provide equine legal services and resources, including the Horses and the Law Podcast, the only podcast (as of fall 2022) that focuses exclusively on equine law.
Animal Law: I have had animals in my life literally since the day I was born. I know how important they are to us. They are our friends and our family members. I help form animal businesses and nonprofits and help people draft animal trusts to include with their estate plans. I also provide e-books and webinars on important animal issues.
